O, For Grace To Trust Him More

Faith is not something that suddenly solves all our problems. In fact, we will struggle with doubts and fears that might tear it apart. But God tells us Peter’s story to show how He can use even the smallest bit of faith so that He can increase it.

Public Suffering

Jesus tells us not to fast or pray in public, because God sees us, and that’s all we need. I came to a few thoughts about my insecurities and had to repent of placing my worth in people’s acceptance and my social ability rather than God’s love.

Under Our Fig Trees

I rewatched an episode of the Chosen and was reminded of Nathanael’s calling to be a disciple. The way that Jesus knew Nathanael already can be a strengthening reminder that He knows us and sees us in our struggle or our waiting.

The Danger of Finding Control

We have the natural urge to control everything in our lives, and while working hard to be successful in our ventures isn’t bad, our need for control might only bring stress and helplessness. We can find peace in God, who controls all things, and loves us to want our good as well.

The Wind and the Waves

I have had trouble dealing with anxiety these days. Thoughts fill my brain constantly, and though that is part of the healing process, it doesn’t make sense to keep battling them when God says He offers us peace. Peter’s story of walking on the water reminded me to keep my eyes on God and not my thoughts.
